Hello my lovelies! I am beyond excited about today’s post for two reasons. Firstly, I teamed up with my bestie Mina from Cubbiful for a twin mani. Secondly, we made these gorgeous watercolor floral nails and you know how much I like making flowers. I love them so much and I couldn’t wait to show you our manis.

Our inspiration for these watercolor floral nails came from two talented ladies in the nail art community. Melissa (@melcisme) made this design first and she used water decals for the flower. Anja (@lieve91) recreated this design and she free handed the flowers so perfectly. We decided to free hand the flowers as well and it wasn’t as easy as I thought!

I mostly used polishes from Kinetics and their new Rio Rio collection that is inspired by the Carnival Season in Brazil. The collection consists of 12 beautiful polishes in vibrant colors. These polishes are from their Solar Gel range. They are not gel polishes, but rather like a hybrid and they have a shiny gel finish. The solar top coat is supposed to pro-long the wear up to 10 days according to the producer. I have tested this and no, it doesn’t last 10 days. Maybe 2-3 max, just like the normal nail polish. However, these Kinetics polishes are SO pigmented and perfect for nail art. They are also incredibly shiny and I gotta say, I was very impressed!

The main color of this mani was Kinetics Parrot In The Bar and it’s a gorgeous cool toned pink. I applied two coats on my pinky and index finger. On my ring finger I made some black and white stripes using a wider striping tape.

The star of the show was this gorgeous watercolor flower and I used a whole bunch of colors to create it. I have used four polishes from Kinetics: pink Parrot In The Bar, orange red King Of Red, orange Think Samba and blue Graffiti Legal. I also used yellow OPI Need Sunglasses? and purple-y magenta piCture pOlish Mad Magenta. I dissolved the colors in acetone and made the petals of the flowers making sure the colors blend together well.

At the end, I made the details with a black acrylic paint and a tiny nail art brush. I also mattified the whole nail art and I gotta say, I actually prefer the matte version! The top coat that I used is Maybelline Color Show Matte Top Coat. I just randomly picked it up and it’s actually really good!

What do you guys think of our watercolor floral nails? I gotta say, I couldn’t be more pleased with the end result and we both nailed it in my opinion! I knew that Mina’s flower would be a sheer perfection and I was totally right. I can’t stop starring at it and I love how the little yellow element is so vibrant. Absolutely loving it!

If you are not following Cubbiful blog yet, you should do it right now :) You will find tons of inspiration on Mina’s blog and a lot of bright and bold manicures. Besides that, she’s just an awesome human being!

The products in this post were provided for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
