Hi everyone. How are you doing? I have gotten quite a few requests on reverse stamping nail art tutorial on Instagram. A lot of people are still quite confused about this technique. I have to admit, it can be quite tricky to reverse stamp perfectly. I decided to make an in-depth tutorial on reverse stamping and share my best tricks with you guys. In this post I will also be sharing my thoughts on the Colouralike Neon Power collection.
I hope that when you finish watching the tutorial, reverse stamping will make more sense to you and that you will pick up some tips along the way.
One of the things that people struggle with this technique is smudging the stamping lines. I’ve noticed that when you fill in the colors and drag the paint the lines tend to smudge. You should try using stippling motions instead whether you are working with a brush or dotting tool.
Another thing that people struggle with the most is transferring the image. I used to have troubles with this too until I discovered a simple and fool-proof technique. Foil glue is your friend when placing the image! Apply a thin layer on the entire nail, wait for it to fully dry and then transfer the stamp. The sticky base that was created with the glue will make it super easy to transfer the stamp! I think this tip made the biggest difference with the technique for me.
Let’s talk a bit about the products used in this tutorial. The stamping plate that I’ve used is Moyra Exotique, which I have reviewed previously (CLICK). There are so many beautiful summery images on it!
Colouralike Neon Power
Colouralike Neon Power collection is the focus of today’s post. It’s a collection of neon stamping polishes that was launched along the Neon Goes Pastel (which I will review soon). There are 6 polishes in total in beautiful, electric colors!
I have been testing the Colouralike Neon Power collection for a while and I really like it. The colors are absolutely stunning, bright and pigmented. They show up beautifully on both black and white base. They dry rather quickly, so be prepared to work fast. I would suggest to use a sticky stamper to be able to pick up and transfer the images. You can also apply a sticky base is you have problems transferring the image, such as Orly Bonder or a simple foil glue. It’s a nature of neon polishes, so don’t get discouraged. Rather than that I didn’t have any problems stamping with these polishes.
The cute pencil stamp I have in this look comes from the Whats Up Nails B030 School’s in Session. Such an awesome and creative stamping plate full of back to school designs! I topped this mani with a matte top coat from Flormar, which I am not entirely sure if I like…
Take a look at the swatches below. I wanted to show you how the colors look like both on black and white bases. The colors show up pretty amazingly! I really wish there was a neon blue here. A bright blue polish would complete the rainbow and make this collection wholesome.
Colouralike Neon Power
I really wish that Colouralike launched this collection sooner. I would be so happy to use these neons in June already and be able to pop some neons in all my summer manis. Right now, I am slowly transitioning to fall colors, so I won’t get to use the neons as often. But hey, who said I can’t mix them in with the fall manis?
Colouralike Neon Power is available on their website. The individual bottles retail for €6, whle the entire collection is priced at €27.
Let me know what you guys think of these two looks!
The products in this post were provided for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
