New Band Alert – Mystery Polish Swatches and Review

Hi everyone. In today’s post I would like to share my thoughts and show you swatches of a new brand. Mystery Polish is a new indie brand and it has just launched at Nailland. The shades that I am showing you in this post will be exclusively sold at Nailland.

I don’t know a lot of details about Mystery Polish, rather than it’s an indie brand created and hand-mixed by a nail tech. The polishes are made in the EU and are complied with the EU regulations. Most of the colors are 5-free (except Kuwi Coa, which is 3-free). So they are very mysterious, indeed.

I am usually very skeptical and critical when it comes to the new nail polish brand launches. This time around was even tougher, because there are literally no information about the brand, nor any reviews yet (since they just launched). I did my best to fairly judge the brand and to have unbiased opinion about it. I was mainly focusing on the formula, application and creativity.

Mystery Polish bottles are square and contain 11 ml (0.37 fl oz) of product. The brush is small, flat and the bristles are very flexible. I do wish they were a little bit more stiff for easier application.

Overall, I was very pleased with the formula. I was able to get a full opacity with 2-3 coats with each polish. The application was pretty easy and the polishes were drying down evenly on the nail.

Mystery Polish Swatches and Review

Jenna is described as a sky blue linear holo with multichrome flakies of gold, lilac, blue and vivid green. I applied 3 coats plus top. The formula was good, the flakies are very prominent.

Kiwi Coa is described as kiwi green candy color with red satin finish. It was pretty difficult to capture the subtle shimmer, but it looks gorgeous in person. 3 thin coats. Despite the satin finish, I did end up applying top coat to even out the polish.

Carmen is described as blackened velvety red jelly micro holo flakies. Carmen is one of my favorites from this brand! The formula is beautiful, the flakies are subtle within the dark base. I applied 2 coats plus top.

Luna is described as orange scarlet jelly with linear holo. When I looked at this polish in the bottle, I wasn’t sure whether I liked it. But once applied on the nails, I did like it a lot more. The color is very pretty and saturated. 2 coats here plus top.

Breda is described as a vivid blue metallic polish with micro holo glitters and scattered holo flakies. Not a huge fan of this finish. 3 coats plus top.

What do you guys think of the polishes? Any of them particularly caught your eye?

Overall, I am pretty impressed with Mystery Polish. Their formulas are pretty good. I didn’t have any difficulties applying any of the polishes, even in this insane heat. I like that the colors have different finishes, because I could see what the brand is capable of. Looking forward to seeing what they will make in the future.

There are a couple of things they they could improve. For once, I feel like they should have an official website prior to the launch (even if they are not planning on selling directly from it) or provided more information to the seller aka Nailland. It would be nice to be able to read more information about the maker and maybe some inspiration behind the colors. In my opinion every new brand should put as much information about themselves as possible, so the customers can learn about them and gain some trust. Let’s see how it goes in the future.

I would also try changing the brush (it’s a minor thing and might also be due to my personal preference).

The five Mystery Polish products that I am showing you in this post are available exclusively at Nailland Hungary. They are priced between €5.90-7.90.

The products in this post were provided for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
